For the last twenty years I have been a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and gym owner. I have trained clients over seventy years of age and as young as eleven. I have trained professional athletes, doctors, attorneys, housewives, famous actresses and busy executives. I have had clients lose eighty pounds of body fat in a few months, and clients who have gained over twenty pounds of muscle in less than twelve weeks. While my client’s routinely achieved results at a level much higher than my colleagues in the fitness industry, and though I have had some clients who have made the kind of dramatic improvements I have described above, I have never been satisfied that I can’t enable more of my clients to attain the kind of physiques they dream about.
Your head is in the way
One of the observations I have made from training literally thousands of clients over my fitness career is that the most significant obstacle that most people will ever face in attaining their dream body is the obstacle inside their head. That’s right; the biggest obstacle to changing your body is your mind. So, I have come to conclude that clients will attain results at a much higher rate if they can change the behaviors that keep them stuck in the body that they are in, while simultaneously being led through a rigorous exercise program. To truly change, people must be given the tools to deal with optimizing nutrition and recuperation. After all, even the most highly motivated personal training clients rarely train with a trainer more than four sessions per week. Consequently, in that four hours per week, the personal trainer is somehow expected to counteract years of neglect and 164 hours of fitness compromising behavior that clients engage in for the other hours in the week. Another problem many personal trainers face is that even if they possess the knowledge themselves to help a client with the myriad of challenges that they face in attaining, and maintaining a great physique, how does the trainer do all of this in the context of a one hour session? On top of all these challenges, the vast majority of personal training clients will not sustain the motivation to continue to participate in rigorous exercise sessions if the program doesn’t yield visible results in two to three weeks. It is what I call the EMC, or Enthusiasm Momentum Curve. In fact, before most clients ever begin training, the most common question they ask their potential personal trainers is, “How long will it take for me to ___________. (Fill in the Blank)” It is understandable that persons considering paying for personal training want to be assured that they will be able to realize the results that they are after if they are going to spend their time and money.
Dipping their toes in
Consequently many clients elect to start off training once or twice a week to begin with. Often they say that depending on how the training goes, they will sign up to train more often at a later date. Since most clients will not sustain the motivation to train in the rigorous fashion necessary to attain the results they desire for more than two or three weeks, they are setting themselves up for failure. The most common advice persons starting an exercise program will receive, is to start off just exercising a couple of days a week. Unfortunately, from a behavioral standpoint, this is the worst training plan for a beginner. Since most people simply go through life repeating habits that they have developed over time, a fitness program will only be successful if a new behavior pattern can be formed.
To develop a fitness lifestyle exercise and proper nutrition should be repeated as often as possible to break the pattern of unhealthy lifestyle patterns that most people otherwise fall back into. After the unhealthy lifestyle patterns have been changed, then the frequency of the exercise program can be relaxed. The fact is that studies have shown that people eat healthier when they are involved in a regular exercise routine. The days when most frequent exercisers indulge in "junk food", is on the days that they don't exercise. So you see exercise is the link that keeps the individual focused on the fact that their goal is to create a personal fitness culture for themselves. And the best way to begin to develop the customs and traits that we all need to establish our own personal fitness culture, is to take advantage of the enthusiasm momentum curve. Consequently, at ThirdPower Fitness our goal is to encourage new clients to exercise five to six days a week, and multiple times a day when they first start to train with us. The concern shared by many, that a schedule requiring a beginner to exercise five or six days a week could lead to overtraining is valid. However, a competent personal trainer can easily develop a program that will allow most individuals to safely train five or six days a week without over training.
Skin in the game
So, I have devised what I believe is the solution that will allow ThirdPower Fitness personal trainers to have sufficient client contact to help our clients begin to see results faster than ever before. This program is also structured to allow clients to see demonstrable results before making a major financial commitment. Under this plan, clients receive all the support services that are needed to start to bring about, and maintain a total body transformation. The program is called the Secret Weapon Jump Start Program. It is designed to deliver extraordinary results in a very short time. In this Secret Weapon Program, you will receive small group personal training for five or six days each week of the first two weeks, individual nutritional counseling, and Part 1 of the Total Body Transformation Seminar. Okay, you are wondering how much is all this going to cost. Normally, ThirdPower Fitness personal training sessions alone cost $120.00 per session. However, I am subsidizing the training for a limited number of clients who agree to train at least five days a week for the first two weeks, and allow me to put their body transformations up on the ThirdPower Fitness website. You will pay $500.00 initially. Sorry, you can’t walk in and train with us for two weeks for free. One of the other things that my twenty plus years of experience in the fitness industry has proved to me, is that people who pay nothing for training don’t value it. Invariably people who have no “skin in the game” will not show up for scheduled sessions, and they will bail as soon as the training becomes a little hard. And you can trust me when I say this training is not easy. You don't need to be in great shape already to train with us. You do have to be willing to work as hard as you possibly can each time you are scheduled to train. I will cover the rest of the cost for the twelve to fourteen training sessions over your first two weeks of training, and the Total Body Transformation Seminar that you will receive as part of this program.
You will be under absolutely no obligation to continue training with us after the first two weeks. However, I am betting that because of the results you will see on your own body in the first fourteen days, you will want to complete at least one twelve week training cycle with us. You should expect to pay at minimum $3,700.00 to complete the twelve week training cycle. I understand that Thirty Seven Hundred Dollars is a significant amount of money. But just think, if you were able to lose over forty pounds of fat, or gain over twenty pounds of muscle in twelve weeks. That twelve weeks could change your life---for the rest of your life. Remember, I've done it with clients before, and I did it with those clients before I created this comprehensive program. Besides I never said we were cheap. In fact we are not. ThirdPower Fitness Life Performance Center is one of the more expensive fitness services in New York, or anywhere else for that matter. The difference is with us you aren't buying a number of exercise sessions that you decide will let you fit working out into your social calendar. After the first two weeks of training you will be following a ThirdPower Fitness Life Performance prescription designed specifically for you. You see we aren't selling exercise sessions and dreams, we sell results. What's more, the quick healthy meal workshop, and the second part of the Total Body Transformation seminar that are included in all ThirdPower Fitness Programs will give you the tools to maintain the new body you've created. No, we aren't cheap, but I think all of our programs represent an extraordinary value for what we offer. Understand, I am not doing this because I am a fitness philanthropist. I believe that the stories of change that will come from just two weeks of training in our Secret Weapon JumpStart Program will inspire many others to sign up for ThirdPower Fitness Programs. So, if you are not serious about changing your body NOW, this probably is not the program for you. Since I am investing a fair amount of my time and money into your success, every person who is interested most come in for a complimentary assessment workout with me before they will be admitted into the program. By the way once you reach your desired physical goals and you want to hold onto that condition, the ThirdPower Fitness maintainence program is actually comprabale in price to what you would pay at most other gyms, or personal training studios.
